Hi, hello Cinebloggers~
What's The Cineblog without a cinema? It wouldn't be, so here are some movies I picked out, some I've seen, one, I have not... I've always found it to be a hard time finding an ethical site to watch movies so I have compiled some from one of my all time favorite, but crowded—and sometimes confusing—websites: Archive.org (this is like a cinephile's holy grail for lesser-known or older movies). It might take a bit to load and play, but they should all work if you are patient with it! I hope all of you love being on my blog as much as I do. Much, much love from me.

Breakfast at Tiffany's
Directed by: Blake Edwards (1961)
I have heard so many wonderful things about this movie and I am excited myself to find out how I like it. It's an iconic movie, everyone's heard of it, but has everyone watched it, is the question. I haven't, have you? If not, then lucky you, just hit play.
Synopsis: "...eccentric New York socialite Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) meets Paul Varjak (George Peppard), a struggling writer. As they grow close, Holly’s chaotic past, shady associations, and obsession with marrying for wealth threaten their chance at real love."
Carrie
Directed by: Brian De Palma (1976)
First off, Brian De Palma is one of my favorite directors ever. If I were to recommend a movie by him, it'd be Dressed to Kill (it is sooo good). Incredibly entertaining and I do love camp. This one, Carrie, is also really good and well-known in the horror genre. I have seen it, so you should too.
Synopsis: "Carrie White, a shy and bullied teenage girl with telekinetic powers (the ability to move objects with her mind), who is severely abused at home by her fanatically religious mother."
Millennium Mambo
Directed by: Hou Hsiao-Hsien (2001)
A favorite! Lingers on my mind all the time (no joke). I have an attachment to the soundtrack of this movie and everything about it is to-die-for. If you've seen Lost in Translation, you might just love this. It's also about loneliness but in a different form. Oh how I am obsessed with this...
Synopsis: "Set in Taipei at the dawn of the year 2001, Millennium Mambo is narrated from a decade in the future by its protagonist, Vicky. The story follows Vicky’s aimless, drifting youth caught between a toxic, abusive live-in boyfriend and a protective, suave local gangster."
Girl, Interrupted
Directed by: James Mangold (1999)
We all know this one. And even if you don't, I bet you've heard an audio from it. Ever think about the crazy things that could go down in a psych ward? Yeah? No?
Yeah, just watch this and enjoy.
Synopsis: "In 1967, 18-year-old Susanna Kaysen is sent to the Claymoore psychiatric hospital after swallowing an aspirin bottle with vodka. There, she befriends troubled young women—including the charismatic sociopath Lisa—confronts her borderline personality diagnosis, and spends over a year learning to understand her own mind before finally leaving for the outside world."
Crash
Directed by: David Cronenberg (1996)
James Spader is my favorite actor, so of course I HAD to throw this one in the mix. The first time watching this, I didn't love it. I actually was sort of confused and unsure if the world would keep spinning. But Cronenberg has some good stuff—he directed Dead Ringers (really do recommend!!).
Crash is not one for the masses but it's for those who find comfort in the odd and weird specifics that yield small communities.
Synopsis: "James Ballard, a film producer who survives a head-on car crash. The trauma awakens a bizarre sexual fetish in him. He and his wife enter an underground subculture of crash survivors who find erotic arousal in twisted metal, scars, and automobile collisions."
